As early as the end of the 1970s, the Luxembourg government was planning to construct an event venue for young musicians, but it was not until March 2003 that the project took on concrete form and the construction of the Rockhal in Esch was decided.
The Rockhal is one of a broad range of national and municipal projects for the development and support of cultural activities in the Grand Duchy.
